Parking in Sopot is to be more expensive

For the first hour of parking in Sopot, tourists and visitors will pay PLN 6.90 (currently PLN 5.20), for the second – PLN 8.20 (currently PLN 6.20) – assumes a project to change the parking fees in the paid parking zone. The resort residents are to take advantage of the changes – announces the city hall.

Marek Niziołek from the office of President Sopot announced on Thursday that the project would be in the agenda of the next session of the city council.

Rate change

– The draft resolution introduces changes in the rates of fees for stopping in the paid parking zone in Sopot, and also increases the relief per hour of parking for the inhabitants of Sopot – added Niziołek.

Currently, the first hour for tourists and people living outside the resort costs PLN 5.20. The new project involves raising the rate for the first hour to PLN 6.90.

Residents will benefit from the changes – owners of the Sopot card currently have 50 percent. Relief for the first hour of parking, for which they pay PLN 2.60 (instead of PLN 5.20).

The new project involves raising the rate for the first hour to PLN 6.90, but at the same time increases the relief to 71 percent. – Residents will therefore pay only PLN 2 for the first hour of parking, and in addition they will be able to use this + first hour + 2 times a day, and not as before only once a day – informs Marek Niziołek.

The office also stated that the project assumes a increase in rates for people living outside the resort for the next hours. And so the second hour will cost – PLN 8.20 (currently PLN 6.20); third hour – PLN 9.80 (currently PLN 7.40); And each subsequent hour – PLN 6.90 (currently PLN 5.20).

The fee for tourists for the whole day of parking (from 9.00 to 22.00) will also increase from PLN 70.80 to PLN 93.90.

According to Sopot office, the hourly rates for parking are directly dependent on the changing minimum wage. Currently applicable, they have not been revalored from the beginning of 2023.

Vice President of Sopot Michał Banacki said that the city is waiting for statutory solutions that will allow you to collect parking fees in Sopot also on weekends.

The vice president also announced consultations with residents regarding parking and functioning of the paid parking zone in Sopot. According to the draft resolutions, the subscription to resort resort is also to be favorable.

Subscription for residents

Residents of the paid parking zone will pay less for the “M” subscription. Currently, it costs PLN 115 for 30 days per vehicle. After the changes it will be PLN 100 per month for each vehicle, without vehicle limit. However, the rate of flat -rate fee will not change – it will still be PLN 10 for 30 days.

The “N” subscription for people with disabilities will be cheaper – its new price proposed in the project is PLN 5 for 30 days.

More will have to be paid for a public subscription (type “O” with the possibility of parking throughout the zone), which after introducing changes will cost not 350 but PLN 500 for 30 days. Parking-in hybrid engine will also be more expensive. The owners of such vehicles for the “E” subscription will pay PLN 100 per month.

The so -called Additional fees, i.e. penalties for not paying the parking fee. The additional fee will be PLN 300, with the case of payment within 7 days, it will be PLN 200 (without limit per year).

The proposed resolution also changes the SPP area. Two current seasonal subzones, i.e. A1 (ul. Winieckiego behind the hall) payable from 1.06 to 15.09. between 9.00-22.00 and C1 (Leśna Opera-Moniuszki and ul. 23 March to the Home Army) payable from 15.04 to 15.10 24/7, during the events at the Forest Opera, they will be included in the zones (respectively) A and C, in which the fees apply throughout the year, in the hours. 9.00-22.00.
