Left MP Paulina Matysiak was dismissed from the infrastructure committee. MPs from the club accused her, among other things, of not consulting their position during the work. PiS and Confederation MPs did not take part in Thursday's vote. Matysiak is also suspended from the Left club after she started cooperation with PiS MP Marcin Horała a few months ago and founded a joint movement with him.
In Thursday's vote, the Sejm adopted a resolution on changes in the composition of parliamentary committees. One of its points was the dismissal of MP Paulina Matysiak (Razem party, Left Club) from the parliamentary infrastructure committee.
Before the vote, Law and Justice MP Paweł Jabłoński stated that PiS club politicians would not take part in it. – Stop punishing substantive MPs for their good work – he said, referring to Matysiak's intentions to dismiss.
Ultimately, 233 MPs took part in the vote – 231 were in favor of the resolution, no one was against, and two MPs abstained. They did not take part in the vote PiS MPs and the Confederation.
Second approach to dismissing the MP
Leftist politicians accuse Matysiak of, among others, that she did not consult their position during the work of the infrastructure committee.
Matysiak said on Wednesday that she saw no substantive grounds for dismissing her from the committee. She emphasized that her work to date is the best proof that she has the competence to sit on this committee.
This was the second attempt at changes in committee composition. Last week in the Sejm, only 227 MPs took part in the vote on this matter. Due to the lack of the required quorum, the Sejm did not adopt the resolution. Therefore, Matysiak's attempt to dismiss failed. In her opinion, it happened because MPs from PiS, Confederation and several people from the Razem party did not vote.
She started cooperation with a PiS MP
The chairwoman of the Left Club, Anna Maria Żukowska, said earlier that MP Matysiak does not currently represent the Left Club because she is a suspended member. – But I don't think this can last forever because everyone is getting more and more tired of it. Mrs. Paulina has probably made it clear that she is closer to the Law and Justice club than to the Left club, so this must be decided by the end of October – she said, referring to the further fate of the MP in the Left club.
Matysiak and PiS MP Marcin Horała announced at the end of June about the establishment of the “Yes for Development” social movement, which is to focus on supporting the development of investments in CPK, nuclear power plants and Polish army. The MP was criticized for her cooperation with a PiS MP. Deputy Speaker of the Sejm Włodzimierz Czarzasty (Left) announced that Matysiak was suspended as a member of the Left club for three months.
On Wednesday, Matysiak wrote on the X website that she was again suspended for three months as a member of the Left Club.
When asked earlier, on Tuesday, on RMF FM, why the request to remove her from the commission came from, she said it was “a desire for revenge.” She said that she was scheduled for a political meeting with the Razem party on Tuesday evening and was given an ultimatum to resign from the “Yes for Development” association and that this was the basis for further talks so that she would remain in the party.
