According to information announced at the turn of 2021 and 2022 by the Canadian group Citizen Lab, Krzysztof Brejza was under surveillance with Pegasus. Brejza's phone was hacked 33 times between April 26, 2019 and October 23, 2019, when he was KO's chief of staff before the parliamentary elections. In April this year The National Prosecutor's Office confirmed that Brejza was under surveillance with Pegasus.
The politician told the investigative committee on Monday that the surveillance of his family and the political environment lasted six months, 24 hours a day, and ended a few days after the parliamentary elections in October 2019. In the politician's opinion, the use of Pegasus during the election campaign was an attack on free elections.

Brejza: it's the fear of criminal liability

– They are afraid – he said. – This is the fear of criminal liability, which will inevitably catch up with them. We are talking about preparing a special operation and directing proceedings against innocent people, he said.
Brejza: I would ask Ziobro why he co-created the evil system
Last week, he did not appear for his hearing former Prosecutor General and Minister of Justice Zbigniew Ziobro. He had previously justified his absence twice by providing a certificate issued by a medical examiner related to cancer.
Brejza was asked what he would ask Ziobro if he had such an opportunity.

– It's a simple matter – either it's true or it's a lie. I would like to ask why Ziobro is on the side of lies, why he is on the side of evil. This case is very clear: it is on the side of darkness and harming people, he added.
The KO MEP emphasized that conclusions must be drawn from this. – Let's build supervision over the secret services, let's destroy these arrangements in the services, let's gain control over the secret services when it comes to wiretapping, to ensure the safety of all citizens – he said.
– This is a very valuable lesson from this terrible story of Pegasus – he concluded.
