Jerzy Owsiak opened the 29th edition of the Pol’and’Rock Festival (previously Przystanek Woodstock). The ceremonial inauguration took place on Thursday at 3 pm. The event takes place at the airport near Czaplinek in Western Pomerania. – So many of you haven’t been here yet – Owsiak shouted from the stage.
On Thursday at 3 pm the Pol’and’Rock Festival started. He announced its beginning from the stage Jerzy Owsiakoriginator and “conductor” of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity and the festival.
– Thank you for being here with us. So many of you have not been here yet – Owsiak shouted from the stage. – Let’s do everything to make Poland feel during these three days of the festival that it can be such a country: full of love, full of friendship, full of respect. We can be a country where we respect each other, where we can hug each other, where we have a good word for each other – he emphasized.

The oath and “departure”
Later, as is customary, the participants took the oath with one hand over their hearts and raised sunflowers in the other. Roman Polański, the legend of the festival, the last stationmaster of the Żary station, where the event was held for years, was also invited to the stage.
It was about him that Owsiak once wrote: “Mr. Roman Polański has been whistling the beginning of our Festival from time immemorial (…) and although retiredthen in a railwayman’s cap, with a lollipop in his hand and a whistle in his mouth, he utters a magic formula.” Also this time, the railwayman shouted “Departure!”, whistled and the festival officially started.
This is my piece of land that I will take care of and respect. This is my home where love, tolerance, brotherhood and friendship reign. So help me rock’n’roll, rock’n’roll, rock’roll!
A press conference was held before the opening. – One thing is beautiful. There are lots of children. Their presence is proof that it is safe here, said Owsiak.
He also emphasized that during the festival he would encourage people to participate in the autumn festivals elections. – Let autumn be ours, remember that the right to vote is your right. And it’s your sacred right to choose who you want. Never in my life will I tell you who to vote for – said Owsiak from the stage during the opening of the event.

Pol’and’Rock Festival. Concert schedule for Thursday, August 3rd
The first concerts will take place on Thursday, when the festival orchestra will play on the main stage at 3 pm. 10 minutes later, the concert of the Australian band The Rumjacks is about to begin. Later, festival goers will be able to hear live m.in. Among them are the cult Polish band Lady Pank, the precursor of the grindcore genre Napalm Death, the Australian band Bullet for My Valentine and the Polish Proletaryat. Krzysztof Zalewski will also perform on the big stage. Numerous workshops and meetings are also planned for August 3, e.g. with Jerzy Kryszak, Marek Dyjak and Grzegorz Kalinowski and a run called “Count with diabetes”.

On the next day of the Pol’and’Rock Festival, performers include: ska-punk band Hoffmaestro, hardcore-punk Biohazard, rock Royal Republic or thrash metal band Carpenter Brut. Among the Polish performers on the main stage of the event you will hear Monika Brodka and the LemON group. Volunteers will also be able to take part in the Creative ODLOT Run or meetings with Katarzyna Kolenda-Zaleska and Marta Kuligowska, Tomasz Zieliński or members of the Kwiat Jabłoni team.

The last day of the festival in Czaplinek will be inaugurated by the performance of the Silesian psychedelic rock band Transgresja. The main stage will also feature bands such as Epica, Spin Doctors and Kwiat Jabłoni. The last one on the festival stage will be Piotr Bukartyk with the band Ajagore. On that day, festival goers will also have the opportunity to meet Borys Szyc, Karol Wójcicki and Martyna Wojciechowska. Just like on Friday, the ODLOT Creative Run will also take place.
