The Dutch police arrested a Polish citizen – one of the most sought after fugitives in Europe – Europol informed on Friday. The detention was made in cooperation with Polish services, based on the instructions sent via the EU Most Wanted website.
Europol announced that a 30-year-old man was included on January 22 in Etten-Leur in the south The Netherlandswest of Breda. He was sought in connection with many serious crimes in Poland and Germanywhich included suspected participation in a deadly incident in Poland in December 2021, in which the victim died as a result of injuries.
The man was also legally sentenced in Poland in 2019 to a year in prison for a crime using violence, as well as a sentence of 3.5 years of imprisonment for other crimes, including drugs related to drugs, resistance to arrest and insulting organ officers racing.
The EU Mots Wanted website was launched in 2016, and so far 479 fugitive profiles have been published there. Europol emphasizes that its action has contributed to the arrest of 167 criminals.
