Presidential election 2025. Cezary Tomczyk: Why does Sławomir Mentzen assume that there will be no debate with him?

Everything is ahead of us. We will see what the campaign will bring – said Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk (KO) on TVN24, asked if there would be the presidential debate of Rafał Trzaskowski with the confederation candidate Sławomir Mentzen.

Cezary Tomczyk referred to “one on one” to debates proposed by Rafał Trzaskowski candidate PIS for president Karol Nawrocki and commentary by Sławomir Mentzen. “Trzaskowski today gave a helping hand to Nawrocki, because he knows that all surveys indicate that in the second round he will have easier with him than with me. The system defends, because he sees that the Duopol PO-PiS may end and does not want to allow something to change in Poland!” – a confederation candidate wrote on social media on Wednesday.

“And why does Sławomir Mentzen assume that there will be no debate with him?” Tomczyk answered.

Asked if there would be a Mentzen-Trzaskowski debate, he replied that “we will all meet for sure May 12 at the debate“.

Asked if one -on -one debate is planned, he said that “everything is ahead of us”. – We'll see what the campaign will bring. Certainly gentlemen will meet on May 12, where both Sławomir Mentzen and Rafał Trzaskowski They confirmed the issues of their presence and debate – he added.

Tomczyk: I would suggest to Mentzen to agree to the debate with Hołownia

– Today I would rather suggest Sławomir Mentzen to agree to the debate with Szymon Hołownia. I would like to see such a debate – said the deputy minister.

To the remark that Hołownia stated that “cannot be like that”, that a representative of the ruling party “chooses someone for a 'solo'”, Tomczyk said that “Szymon Hołownia called Sławomir Mentzen himself to debate.” – Nobody said then that this debate should take place in another format – he noted.

In his opinion, if Mentzen “does not lack courage, he should agree to the debate with Szymon Hołownia, because the more debates, the greater the choice for citizens.”

Asked why Trzaskowski chose Nawrocki, Tomczyk said that “all surveys indicate that Nawrocki would enter the second round together with Rafał Trzaskowski.”
