On Thursday, the Sejm received a motion to waive the immunity of PiS MP and former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. in connection with the suspicion of exceeding the powers when organizing the so-called envelope elections in 2020. It is possible to hold a deputy criminally liable after obtaining the consent of the Sejm.

The head of the Left Club, Anna Maria Żukowska, said in “Kropka nad i” that Mateusz Morawiecki in 2020, he ordered elections “without basis”. – He exceeded his powers, issued two administrative decisions regarding the organization of these elections (…), without having the power, statutory or any other authorization to do so – said the Left MP. She declared that her club would vote to “lift this immunity.” – This is, I think, obvious – she added.

The chairman of the parliamentary club Poland 2050, Paweł Śliz, said that the application was “very extensive, very well documented” and that “this application was immediately initiated.”

– Citizens could see during the investigative commission (on envelope elections – ed.) how many irregularities there were while conducting these envelope elections – he said. He added that “this is not a political fight” but rather “actually a settlement of committing a prohibited act.”
