Tourists spending the picnic outside the home set off on Sunday. There are difficulties on the routes from the mountains and from the sea.
The sunny weather for the long May weekend meant that many Poles decided to relax in the Tatra Mountains. The estimates of the Tatra Chamber of Commerce show that even 85 percent reached over the beds in Zakopane, and many facilities were completely completed.
From the early morning hours in Zakopane there were serious traffic problems. Although the situation has improved a bit, drivers still have to be patient. Just an hour ago, the cork reached from the center of Zakopane, through Poronin and Biały Dunajec to Nowy Targ.
In the region of Nowy Targ, traffic is a bit improved – in this place Zakopane goes into a two -lane road, which allows for a smoother driving towards Krakow. Despite this, even in this section, drivers must slow down in places – especially in the vicinity of Myślenice, where local slowdowns still occur. The passage of a 20-kilometer section from Zakopane to enter a two-lane road before noon took up to an hour and a half.
A similar situation prevails on the routes through Białka Tatrzańska and Czarny Dunajec, which many drivers try to bypass Zakopane.
The whole section from Zakopane to Krakow – about 100 kilometers – drivers cover in about 2 hours and 40 minutes. It's almost an hour longer than usual.
General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways It informs about road embolism and increased traffic not only in Zakopane. Traffic jams also form in the region of Sucha Beskidzka and Maków Podhalański. The traffic on the A4 motorway towards Katowice is also difficult – from the Kraków Południe junction to the fee collection square in Balice.

Difficulties occur, among others On a 30-kilometer section, near Międzyzdroje, where road works are carried out. In connection with road works, a changed traffic organization applies on a certain section. A roundabout is renovated, which can be difficult to less oriented drivers. In addition, there are significant speed limits for most of the route, which means that a trip from coastal towns can be very difficult. Another slowdown – this time at a length of about 40 kilometers – occurs on the S6 route, from the Goleniów Airport node to the Klug node.
Problems with smoothness of movement also appear in the vicinity of Bialy Bor, towards Bydgoszcz.
