There is a very high probability of record rainfall in the coming days, but the entire state machinery, especially the State Fire Service, is well prepared – said Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister of the Interior and Administration and Minister Coordinator of Special Services, in “Kropka nad i” on TVN24. He said that he is in close contact with the voivodes from the areas where extreme rainfall is expected. He assured that “in such situations, every citizen can count on the support of the state services”.
Extremely heavy rainfall is forecast in parts of Poland, which is to be brought by the Genoese low from southern Europe. In the afternoon, the Government Security Center sent an SMS alert to residents of the next three voivodeships at risk of flooding. Services, including the fire department, are preparing for the difficult situation.
Siemoniak on the forecast of extreme rainfall: the services are prepared
The head of the TVN24 program spoke more about this situation in “Kropka nad i” Ministry of Interior and Administration and the Minister Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak. – We have announcements from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management. We also have announcements from Czechsbecause due to geography it is a country that we always keep a close eye on. There is a very high probability of record rainfall tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, for the next few days – he said.
– In connection with this, since yesterday we have been in very close contact with the governors, we have dispatched the resources of the Fire Department, the army and reviewed all procedures and actions. It has been 14 years since the last major flood in 2010, but the governors and starosts remember all this perfectly and are prepared. We are deploying very large resources so that nothing surprises us – Siemoniak continued.
The head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration assured that “the entire state machine, especially the State Fire Service, is well prepared” for this situation. – In such situations, every citizen can count on the support of state services – he assured.
Siemoniak: It was a bad week for PiS
Siemoniak also commented on the arrest of the former MEP Richard Czarnecki as part of the proceedings in the Collegium Humanum case.
– This case is very developing, because the prosecutor's office is constantly obtaining new information from those who were arrested and the proceedings are ongoing, and this international thread, this thread related to the trade in diplomas, not only in Poland, is certainly extremely outrageous – he said.

The Minister of Interior and Administration stated that “this is a bad week for PiS, because this week a British court recognized the materials of our prosecutor's office and did not release MichaÅ‚ K., the former head of RARS, from custody”. – Now the prosecutor's office's decisions regarding Ryszard Czarnecki. So I think that also various people in PiS eyes will be opened to the fact that very bad things were happening in PiS or around PiS, where many people acted in such a way as if they would never be held accountable by anyone – he added.
He said about Collegium Humanum that “this university had a political umbrella”. – The former rector, currently in custody and facing serious charges, skillfully constructed all this, attracted politicians such as Ryszard Czarnecki, who was arrested yesterday. Many PiS politicians participated in various ceremonies there and so on. Therefore, for the services it was a sacred cow, it was not allowed to touch it and probably no one kept an eye on the fact that there were students without permits, that if such procedures were allowed, (…), the services turned a blind eye to it – said the guest of TVN24.
Siemoniak: Germany's decision on borders is due to its domestic policy
Tomasz Siemoniak also commented on the actions of the German government. The Minister of the Interior of the Federal Republic of Germany, Nancy Faeser, announced that temporary controls will begin on all German land borders on 16 September. Initially, they are to last six months.
As he said, the heads of the interior ministries of countries bordering Germany receive letters from the local Ministry of Internal Affairs with explanations, but “everyone is outraged” anyway, also by the style in which it was communicated by the German side.
– And everyone knows that the reasons do not lie in Poland, Austria, Netherlandsbut this is internal German politics: elections (local – ed.), Solingen, or the scandal after the knife attack (which took place at the end of August – ed.). What can I say, the German authorities showed sluggishness and incompetence, they were unable to expel a person who was functioning normally. And why should we, why should other neighbors of Germany be punished with all this? – Siemoniak wondered.

According to the head of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, introducing controls on all German borders “will not reduce the problem”. – We appeal, we act, we talk, (…) so that there is reflection on the fact that Germany is doing a terrible thing in this case – he said.
– We cooperate with Germany on all matters. We point out how difficult the situation has been for almost three years on the Polish-Belarusian border. We are ready to cooperate. I believe that Germany will not cross out the value of free movement across the border – added the guest of “Kropka nad i”.
