Evacuations of residents from flooded towns in southern Poland are underway. The situation is dramatic in Kłodzko (Lower Silesia) and Głuchołazy (Opole). The situation is also difficult in the Silesian province. Water is seeping into buildings. Services are appealing to residents to follow evacuation orders.
After heavy rains, southern Poland is flooding. The water is breaking through embankments and protections, flooding tenement houses and houses. In some places, almost 400 liters of water per square meter fell in three days – as much as should fall in half a year. Today, it is still supposed to rain in the south of the country. The services are on standby 24 hours a day. The army has been called in to help. In many places, residents have been ordered to evacuate. The services are appealing to follow evacuation orders.
