She wanted to “train” herself, but all her learning would be lost for a long time. A completely drunk 28-year-old woman who drove zigzag through the streets of Świebodzin (Lubusz Voivodeship) will be banned from driving, even though she has not yet obtained the appropriate driving license. She faces up to three years in prison.

The 28-year-old was arrested on Sunday afternoon. Police officers from the Świebodzin traffic police noticed the way the Peugeot was driving. – The vehicle was driving in a zigzag direction. The officers decided to check the cause – explains senior officer Marcin Ruciński from the District Police Headquarters in Świebodzin.

She couldn't hold the steering wheel or the vertical well

During the road check, it turned out that the driver was drunk. She was in such a condition that she had trouble keeping her balance. – The test result showed almost two per mille of alcohol in the 28-year-old's body – says Ruciński.

Further inspection showed that the woman did not have a driving license and was… taking a driving course. – The most surprising thing was the fact that the woman's sober, licensed partner was sitting in the passenger seat. When asked why she decided to get behind the wheel, the woman stated that “she wanted to improve her skills,” explains Ruciński.

Now the 28-year-old will discontinue the course, will be banned from driving, will be required to pay a cash benefit for a purpose specified by the court and will be fined. Moreover, she faces a prison sentence of up to 3 years.

But that's not the end. – We will verify whether the woman's partner provided her with a vehicle. If he was aware that she was under the influence of alcohol and did not have a driving license, and yet he provided her with the vehicle, he would suffer the legal consequences of his behavior – added Ruciński.
