The West Pomeranian National Tax Chamber inspected a parcel sent from Hong Kong, which was supposed to contain gardening tools. Instead, officials found four scorpions and two scorpions. Due to the lack of required documents, the animals were sent back to the sender.
West Pomeranian officials allegedly found garden tools in a parcel sent from Hong Kong. However, the weight and shape of the package made them suspicious, so they conducted an inspection.
Maciej Koniuszewski, the press spokesman of the Chamber of Tax Administration in Szczecin said that during the inspection, four scorpions and two uropygi were found in six plastic boxes. – These species are not protected by the CITES convention, but the animals could not stay in the country due to the lack of the required documents – he added.
In this case, there was no health and origin certificate.
The Veterinary Inspection provided appropriate conditions for the animals, and the parcel was sent back to the sender.
