Water from the municipal water supply in Szydłowiec is not suitable for human consumption. It should not be used for preparing meals or washing. Streptococcus bacteria have been detected in the water supply to the following towns: Szydłowiec, Rybianka, Świerczek, Szydłowek, Długosz and Marywil.
On Wednesday, September 12, the State District Sanitary Inspector in Szydłowiec received information about the quality of the tested water samples in terms of the determined microbiological parameters – Enterococci (faecal streptococci) were found in them.
“In connection with the above, the PPIS in Szydłowiec determines that the water from the public water supply system is not suitable for human consumption” – informed the sanitary-epidemiological station in Szydłowiec.
As the sanitary-epidemiological station pointed out, tap water is not suitable for consumption. “Using it for drinking, preparing meals, contact with it while washing or bathing poses a threat to the health of people using it,” the sanitary-epidemiological station warns. Tap water can only be used to flush sanitary facilities.
