They were riding a quad bike and hit a tree. A 23-year-old woman died, while the 24-year-old was not seriously injured. He claims that the woman was driving the vehicle. The police are investigating whether that was actually the case.
The accident occurred on Wednesday (14 August) evening in the village of Szymonka, between Giżycko and Mikołajki.
– A 23-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were driving the quad. According to the man, the vehicle was driven by a woman who died at the scene – informs the press officer of the police in Giżycko, Iwona Chruścińska.
The 24-year-old was not seriously injured.
The police are now verifying the version presented by the man, who did not suffer any serious injuries.
The 23-year-old was a resident of Skierniewice.

Szymonka is a picturesque village, through which runs a narrow and winding county road connecting Mikołajki with Giżycko. The road is sheltered by trees. In summer, there is usually a lot of traffic there, because it is the shortest route connecting two Masurian cities.
