French President Emmanuel Macron confirmed that on Wednesday he would organize another meeting about Ukraine with the leaders of European countries and from outside Europe. He also announced that he would talk to political forces in the country about the situation related to the threat from Russia, because – as he added – “the development of accidents is becoming more and more uncertain.”
According to diplomatic sources, cited by the daily “Le Monde”, among the invited countries are: Norway, Canada, the Czech Republic, Greece, Finland, Romania, Sweden, Belgium and the Baltic States. In an interview with the regional press, Macron said that France is not preparing to send land forces to Ukraine, which would be a fighting side.
He assessed that a possible solution to ensure a security guarantee could be “sending experts and even units” outside the conflict zone, so as to “support Ukrainians and show solidarity.” “France is considering this with Great Britain,” Macron said.
He also mentioned the possibility of deciding as part of negotiations that she appeared under the mandate of the United Nations, “operation of maintaining peace”, which would take place along the front line.
