The Sejm voted: On Wednesday, November 27 Sejm adopted a law freezing electricity prices for households in 2025. Voted for its adoption 412 MPs, there were 3 against (all from the Confederation: Konrad Berkowicz, Witold Tumanowicz, Przemysław Wipler). 14 abstained from the vote: Klaudia Jachira from KO, Paweł Kukiz from Republicans and 12 MPs from Confederation). Now the bill will go to the Senate.
What does this mean? The proposal assumes maximum prices electricity for households will be maintained at the level PLN 500 per MWh net. As indicated by the Ministry of Climate and Environment, “without this solution, the recipients they would pay approximately PLN 623/MWhi.e. the price indicated in the applicable tariffs. Additionally, in the first half of 2025, the zero rate of the so-called capacity fee may be extended.
Green energy mix: The ministry announced that in parallel with the freezing of electricity prices government is working intensively on building a green energy mix. “We are unleashing potential renewable energy sources (RES) and we develop projects related to nuclear energywhich will contribute to the country's long-term energy stability,” it was reported.
