The Warsaw Security Forum has started. The head of the Ministry of National Defense on threats to security

Opening the conference, the Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that Europe and the Western world are currently facing a number of challenges related not only to the Russian invasion Ukrainebut also crises in other parts of the world, such as in the Middle East, where the Israeli operation in Lebanon.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense emphasized that the collapse of the independent Ukrainian state would have unimaginable consequences for European security. He pointed out the need to provide Ukraine with effective security guarantees, including an eventual invitation to… NATO.

Kosiniak-Kamysz also referred to Polish security policy and the threats Poland faces. He emphasized commitment Polish army and services in securing the border with Belarus – which, as he recalled, is also the external border of the European Union and NATO. He also emphasized the involvement of the Polish armed forces in combating international terrorism. – The goal is to stop the conflict from spilling over into the Middle East, he said.

The head of the Ministry of National Defense also spoke about the importance of cooperation between NATO and the European Union in security and defense issues, including increasing the EU's activity in this area.

The Warsaw Security Forum conference is organized every year by the Casimir Pułaski Foundation. Each year, the program includes a number of debates and panels focusing on defense issues, with particular emphasis on the security of Central and Eastern Europe.

Politicians, military personnel and security experts from Poland, Europe and other countries will take part in the discussion panels during this year's conference (October 1-2). USA.
