On Friday morning, the emergency services received a notification about three people drawn into the ocean in the area of ​​San Remo beach, southeast of Melbourne in Victoria. One of the people managed to get to the shore, but during the search from the air in the water an unconscious woman was found who could not be saved. The fate of the third member of the group still remains unknown.

Fishermen also fell victims of the high waves. On Saturday, in New South Wales, the sea kidnapped the angler, who fished fish on a rock cliff. After three hours of searching, rescuers managed to regain his body. A similar situation in the same condition occurred on Friday.

The police from New South Wales reported that on Sunday morning the search for a missing man was resumed, swept away from the cliff to the water near Sydney on Saturday. The action began almost immediately after the accident, but the deteriorating weather conditions forced the rescuers to stop the search.

The Australian Meteorology Office (BOM) warned the inhabitants to be particularly careful along the main parts of the New South Wales coast. Difficult weather conditions are expected in the region throughout the Christmas weekend.

“It is expected that waves and tides will be dangerous for people performing coastal activities, such as rock fishing, sailing and swimming,” the office said in a statement.
