All he has to do is say: I'm sorry – said Jerzy Owsiak in “Fakty po Faktach”, referring to the case of a man who admitted to making threats against him. He declared that he was “absolutely ready” to meet this man. Professor Bohdan Maruszewski, a doctor and co-founder of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity, said that the source of such threats “is probably not bad will”, but the behavior of people who want to “arouse hatred”.

The guests of Thursday's edition of “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 were the president of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity Foundation Jerzy Owsiak and Professor Bohdan Maruszewski, a pediatric cardiosurgeon and co-founder of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity.
They referred to the threats that appeared against Owsiak and which he reported on social media. On Wednesday the police detained a man suspected of making threats. He heard the charge and pleaded guilty. Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, said that in a free statement the suspect informed that the threats were motivated by “reading one of the reports on Telewizja Republika, in which Jerzy Owsiak was presented in a bad light.”

– All he has to do is say: I'm sorry. Sit next to me and say: I'm sorry this happened. And maybe that will be enough. Maybe this will also be a lesson for everyone else – Owsiak said in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24, turning to this man.
– I don't know where the source of all this is. It's hard to find a reason why someone would easily enter into such a narrative because they hear something, said the head of the Orchestra.
When asked if this meant that he would like to meet this man, Owsiak replied: – I am absolutely ready, there is no doubt about it. (….) I think it would also help all of us and me to see what the other side looks like.

Maruszewski: the source is among people who make it up to arouse hatred
Maruszewski said that “the gentleman who did it didn't invent it.” – In didn't do it himself, because it came to him out of nowhere. He came up with it only because he was under the influence of information, campaigns and media activities that were supposed to lead to this, he said.
– Therefore, the source is probably not the man's bad will, but I think that the source is among those people who stimulate it, who invent it just to arouse hatred – added the doctor.

The Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity has been playing since 1993. For 32 years, the WOŚP Foundation has been supporting the Polish health care system through one-day public collections called Finals: it buys the most modern medical equipment for hospitals, runs eight nationwide medical programs, implements an educational program and promotes a healthy lifestyle and preventive activities.
During 32 Finals, WOŚP collected nearly PLN 2.3 billion, which was used to purchase 74.5 thousand various medical devices. During most of the Finals, the Orchestra played to improve the quality of medical care for children. But not only that. In the last two years, among other things, the Foundation also conducted collections for adults: in 2023 for the fight against sepsis, and in 2024 – for the treatment of lung diseases.
The main theme of the 33rd Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity is the safety and health of children, and is accompanied by the slogan: “We play for health!”. The collected funds will be allocated to the needs of pediatric hematology and oncology.
The 33rd Grand Finale of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity will take place on Sunday, January 26, but some traditional initiatives – such as the Warsaw Run “Count yourself with diabetes!” – will be organized on Saturday, January 25.
