The fight for maintenance in the Premier League began to resemble the turtle race. Stal Mielec won only one match in the spring, Zagłębie Lubin just slowed down the coach, because it recorded the fourth defeat in a row, and Friday fourth lost the next start Lechia Gdañsk. The Niepołomice Forest in the spring is also mainly losing. All this meant that before the first Sunday meeting, the advantage of a safe zone over Silesia Wrocław, which until recently seemed to be a 100 % inheritance candidate, was only four points.
At 12:15 Judge Marcin Szczerbowicz began the second match in the history of the Premier League, which took place in Niepołomice. The Forest wanted to break the first victory in the league history of the object. On the other side of the pitch they found themselves Piurters Piasta Gliwice. Aleksandar Vukovic's players hoped to score. In the previous match they lost painfully to Raków Częstochowa (0: 3).
Already at the beginning of the meeting, the host fans fell into euphoria. According to the arbitrator, Mroziński was fouled in the penalty area by Kostadinov and we had the first penalty kick that day. Artur Cracun approached the ball and defeated Frantiska Placha with a certain shot.
In response, Erik Jirka found himself in a situation alone with Kewin Komar, but the goalkeeper of the hosts met ago challenge and bounced the ball against a corner. A moment later he also coped with the powerful blow of Michał Chrapek.
After changing sides, Aleksandar Vuković enjoyed for the first time. Miłosz Szczepański, he introduced to the pitch, used Zedadka, passed the goalkeeper and led to equalization.
It was not the end of emotions in this meeting. In a huge confusion in Piast's penalty area, the hosts tried to press the ball into the goal. They were detained by Tomas Huk, who, being just before the goal line, stopped the football. The repetitions, however, showed that he did it using his hands. Marcin Szczerbowicz, after consulting Szymon Marciniak as a VAR judge, dictated another penalty kick. Craciun approached the ball again and found a way to score again.
Piast's answer was immediate. Jirka appeared again in the role of the trying, but he was arrested again by Komar. In the 69th minute, once again the attention of everyone focused on … Marcin Szczerbowicz. The judge first dictated a penalty kick for Piast, but after the intervention VAR canceled him.
Ultimately, the result has not changed and the Forest defeated Gliwice 2: 1. This is a win that allowed her to leave the relegation zone. In it – at least for the next two hours – there is Zagłębie Lubin, which will take Kielce Korona on Sunday. We would like to remind you that teams from places 16-18 will say goodbye to the league.
In the next round – after the representative break – Puszcza will play with Cracovia (March 29). Piast the day before (March 28) will face Widzew Łódź.
