However, this is only the beginning of the season for Gronorosty, and according to research, this year there may be a lot of them.

From March, tons of struggle – sea algae with brown color began to accumulate on the beaches of Southern Florida. For residents of coastal regions of state and tourists, their presence is a lot of discomfort, because algae effectively hinder their rest on the water.

There will be more algae

Each spring, staphylococcioses go to the United States from the Sargass Sea, where they occur on huge ocean tracts. As explained by Chuanmin Hu, an oceanologist from the University of South Florida, this year the situation is particularly difficult. By the end of April, the amount of algae for this time of year gathered on the beaches. According to the latest forecasts this year, there may be 40 percent more seaweed on the beaches than in the previous record season.

The inhabitants of Southern Florida asked the local authorities to remove the struggle as soon as possible. As they reminded, in 2022 the stinking masses of algae forced many tourists to shorten the holidays, and cleaning the gigantic stacks of rotting matter cost the city of many millions of dollars.
