National road no. 33 on the Kłodzko-Boboszów (state border) route has been flooded and traffic is only possible on the hard shoulder. Traffic disruptions will last at least three hours, road workers reported.
The officer on duty at the Lower Silesian branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways reported that before 6 p.m. on Saturday, national road No. 33 in the town of Żelazno was flooded due to heavy rainfall.
“Traffic is moving only on the hard shoulder. The disruption will last at least three hours,” the officer on duty said.
DK 33 is a transit route. It leads from the Kłodzko bypass to Boboszów and the state border with the Czech Republic.
The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management forecasts rainfall totals of up to 150 liters per square meter in the Lower Silesia, Opole, Silesia, and Lesser Poland provinces from Thursday to Sunday, which could cause flash floods. A warning of heavy rainfall of the highest – third degree – is in force in these provinces. The heaviest rainfall is forecast in the Kłodzko Valley.
