Donald Trump, the Republican candidate for US president, has said he would like to appoint Elon Musk to serve in his future administration if he wins the November election. Musk wrote on social media that he is “ready to serve”, posting a photo of himself in front of the American flag.
Trump said Monday in Pennsylvania that if elected, he would offer Tesla CEO Elon Musk a cabinet or advisory position. “He’s a very smart guy. I would certainly do it if he wanted to. He’s a brilliant guy,” Trump said. He repeated the same promise in an interview with Reuters.
Musk: I am ready to serve
“I am ready to serve,” Musk wrote on Platform X, posting a photo of himself in front of an American flag.
In July, Musk endorsed Trump's presidential bid and announced that he was creating a Super PAC, or political action committee, to support the presidential candidate in USAcalled America PAC. Its mission was to raise funds for the Trump campaign.
As Rolling Stone reports, there were reports in the media that Musk would transfer $45 million a month to this committee, but the Tesla CEO himself denied it.
Trump hinted in May that he was considering giving Musk a major role. The Wall Street Journal reported that the former president and the world's richest man speak several times a month and have discussed issues such as immigration, technology and a new branch of the US military, the Space Force.
The British “Rolling Stone” recalls that just two years ago, Musk and Trump exchanged invectives on social media, but in July the former president declared at a campaign rally: I love Elon Musk.
