British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak admitted the Conservatives had been defeated in Thursday's election. “I take responsibility for that. I apologise,” he said.

The UK general election has ended. According to survey exit poll The Labour Party won, gaining 410 seats in the 650-seat House of Commons.

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak admitted defeat in Friday's polls elections national elections and said that the Labour Party had won. “I have already called Keir Starmer to congratulate him on his victory,” he added.

“I take responsibility for this failure. I apologise,” Sunak said.

– Power will pass into other hands. We will do it in a calm and principled way, with good will on both sides. This is something that will give us all a sense of stability in our country – he said.
