At least eight people were injured as a result of a Russian kamikaze drone attack on the city of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations reported.
“Russian troops attacked the central market in Nikopol. The commercial premises were significantly damaged,” the State Service said on Telegram on Thursday. Ukraine for Emergency Situations.
The kamikaze drone attack occurred after 9 a.m. Ukrainian time (8 a.m. in Poland).
The State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations and the authorities of the Dnipropetrovsk region first reported that six civilians were injured in the attack. Later, the head of the region, Serhiy Lysak, announced that the number of injured had increased to eight. “Seven of them were taken to hospital. One woman is in critical condition. Three more people are in serious condition,” Łysak wrote on Telegram.
On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the Russians shelled Nikopol with heavy artillery. Two shops, three skyscrapers and power lines were damaged. There were no victims or injured, Serhiy Lysak said on Thursday morning.
