“President Andrzej Duda honored the US ambassador to Poland, Marek Brzezinski, with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for his services to strengthening Polish-American cooperation,” the National Security Bureau (BBN) said on October 10.
“Minister Siewiera, referring to the Ambassador who was finishing his mission in Poland, emphasized that he performed the tasks in an extremely difficult period for the security of Poland and the world, when a full-scale war broke out behind our eastern border and we often stood on the brink of crisis. He undertook it only two days before Russia's aggression against Ukraine and he performed it with a sense of responsibility for the fate of the entire region. The closing highlight of the mission was the inauguration of the American anti-missile base in Redzików,” we read in the BBN information.
“It was also a period of further strengthening of the Polish-American strategic partnership, which was manifested in historic arms contracts, cooperation in the field of nuclear energy and the establishment of an American military presence of several thousand people on Polish territory,” it was emphasized.
On behalf of the president, the order was presented by the head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera.
