Last month, only 0.02 cm of rain fell in Central Park, while the most common level reaches 11.2 cm. Residents use an average of 4.2 billion liters of water a day.
The appeal issued by Eric Adams is related to the first of three potential directives to save water in one of the most populous US cities. In addition to the above-mentioned recommendations, the mayor also suggested taking shorter showers and repairing leaking taps.

The drought problem was to affect almost half of the US territory in October. All because of little rainfall and extremely high temperatures. In the north-east, among others, exceptionally warm Halloween – from New York to Maine, thermometers ranged from 24 to 28 degrees Celsius.
