A pilgrimage work and an apartment for a million from Czarnek. Inspection: no evidence of activity
Father Mirosław Matuszny sympathizes with the Confederation and really dislikes the European Union. The “Pod Damaskiem” Foundation he founded received one million zlotys from Minister Czarnek to purchase premises where it was to conduct educational activities. During the inspection in April, she was unable to determine what classes she organized and when.
- In 2022, the “Pod Damaszkiem” Foundation received a subsidy for the purchase of a premises in an apartment building in Lublin as part of the villa plus program. It was supposed to “support the education system”.
- We have obtained the results of an audit carried out at the foundation on behalf of the Ministry of National Education. According to inspectors, during the April inspection, the foundation could not provide any evidence of conducting the classes listed in the grant application.
- The Academy of Truth, Good and Beauty was established in the property financed by the villa plus. Only after the inspection did the foundation begin to organize tutoring sessions conducted by volunteers at the premises.
- Behind the “Pod Damaskiem” Foundation is the radical right-wing priest Mirosław Matuszny, who called, among others, to “confront sodomite terror in the name of Christ.”
- The president of the “Pod Damaszkiem” Foundation is Justyna Dusza, who in 2023 combined work for the organization with the function of an assistant to the then president of the Bogdanka coal mine.
Father Mirosław Matuszny, parish priest in Snopków near Lublin, loves animals and loves traveling. Among the faithful, he is considered a modern, somewhat “subversive” priest. – There was no conversation with the previous parish priest without money – we hear from one of the residents. – Matuszny is a very good priest, modest, he drives a beat-up car. He flies and visits a lot around the world.

We will meet in September 2023 at the rectory in Snopków. The parish priest is just returning from religion classes. He has a full-time job at the school opposite (Minister Czarnek visited it twice in 2022), and he also works four hours a week at one of the private schools in Lublin. As he says, he has been working with young people for 26 years.
With a smile, he invites us in and offers us coffee.
A group of cats are walking on the floor and they are the apple of the priest's eye. Matusznego. Their photos on the priest's social media are mixed with shared entries by Confederate politicians, e.g. Grzegorz Braun, anti-EU memes and entries about the current government, which the priest considers to be the “#regime13December”.
Matuszny is also the founder and member of the program board (responsible primarily for finances) of the “Pod Damaszkiem” Foundation, whose headquarters to this day – according to documents submitted to the National Court Register – is located in his parish.
At the end of 2022, the “Pod Damaskiem” Foundation received a grant for one million PLN from the Minister of Education, Przemysław Czarnek. She used it to buy an 88-meter commercial premises in the Sowińskiego Apartments in Lublin – as the developer called the building. This funding was granted under the “Development of the infrastructure potential of entities supporting the education system” program, commonly known as Willa Plus.
