Warsaw. A new polar bear run. Visualizations

The capital city hall has signed a contract for the development of a new polar -bearing project project. There are already preliminary visualizations.

The new space will be built in the place of the current catwalk for the bear, which is currently inhabited by penguins and otters – right at the entrance to the zoo from Ratuszowa Street. The new concept will also cover an undeveloped valley, thanks to which the bears will have as many as three catwalks, which – according to officials – will improve the comfort of their lives.

Observations under water

The project will be provided for three new buildings: main, gawry and multifunctional with technical facilities and toilets for visitors. The new facilities will replace the existing buildings, and the materials and compositions used are to refer to the “Arctic landscape”. The project will also take into account the construction of the pool, with the possibility of observing by visitors what is happening below the surface of the water.

“In addition, as part of the contract, which was signed by the Warsaw City Expansion Board, viewing zones will be designed, from which animals can be observed: the square at the south-eastern catwalk border (intimate space close to the entrance), a recessed amphitheater with a view of floating bears, a viewing bay in The northern part of the complex will also include the greenery project and elements of small architecture ” – the town hall announced in the communiqué.

Under the watchful eye of a conservator

The Warsaw Zoological Garden is entered in the register of monuments, which is why conservation guidelines must be included in the design process of the new facility.
