A 26-year-old pedestrian was injured in an accident on Żwirki i Wigury Street. The driver of a passenger car hit her at a pedestrian crossing. The police are explaining who had the red light in this situation.

Warsaw paramedics announced on social media that the pedestrian was hit. According to them, the accident occurred at 7:25 p.m. on Żwirki i Wigury Street. “A car hit a 26-year-old woman who was running through a pedestrian crossing. She doesn't remember at what light. Suddenly, an Opel passenger car hit her. The woman hit her head on the windshield. She did not lose consciousness,” reports the Provincial Ambulance Station “Meditrans” in Warsaw on Facebook.

The police and an ambulance were called to the scene. “The woman has a head injury, right shoulder injury and pelvic injury. By decision of the head of the Emergency Medical Team, the patient will be taken to hospital for further diagnostics and hospitalization,” the entry emphasized.

“Meditrans” reports that both the driver of the Opel and the pedestrian were sober.

The police are verifying “two versions” of the incident

Information about the incident is confirmed by aspirant Kamil Sobótka from the Warsaw Police Headquarters. – The driver of the Opel hit a woman on a marked pedestrian crossing with traffic lights. The driver was sober and had a driving license – he said in an interview with tvnwarszawa.pl.

As he noted, the police are investigating the circumstances of the hit-and-run on the spot, because the participants presented two different versions of what happened.
