He had short pants, a scarf around his head and spray cans. A resident of Wola noticed him when he was painting on the wall near the entrance to the metro station. A 43-year-old graffiti artist was caught red-handed.

“Painting graffiti is rather the domain of young people. Some people, despite the passage of time, do not grow up. An example of this is a 43-year-old resident of Jaworzno, who stopped in the capital especially to scribble on the walls on the night of June 29,” city guards say in a press release.

It was almost 2 a.m. when one of the residents of Wola noticed a man in shorts and with his head wrapped in a scarf, spray painting on the wall, near the entrance to the metro station at PÅ‚ocka Street. City guards from the 4th Regional Department, who were notified by a witness, found the graffiti artist when he was already destroying the wall of a nearby parking lot at the bus stop on Wolska Street. It turned out to be a 43-year-old resident of Jaworzno.

“When asked why he was doing this, he explained that on his way back from GdaÅ„sk he stopped in Warsaw to 'leave a trace of himself in the capital' and that he would return home the next day. However, he had to verify these plans because he was stopped by a police patrol called to the scene,” the statement continues.

The Municipal Guard reminds that the Penal Code provides for a penalty of three months to five years in prison for vandalism.
