The police detained the driver, who is suspected of causing a serious accident and failing to help an injured passenger. The incident took place a few days ago in Warsaw's Targówek district. The 30-year-old was temporarily arrested.

The accident at Janowiecka Street in Targówek occurred on Sunday, December 29. A Volkswagen car was smashed into a pole. As a result of the incident, a 33-year-old man traveling in the car was seriously injured. The injured man was provided first aid by city guards patrolling the area.

An ambulance was called to the scene and took the injured man to hospital. There, the injured party underwent surgery.

More than a week after the accident, the spokeswoman for the command, Chief Commissioner Paulina Onyszko, explained that the 33-year-old was a passenger in the crashed car. Apart from him, there were two other people traveling in the vehicle.

The information was passed on to police officers of the capital garrison. A few hours later, criminals from Targówek detained two people in Ząbki near Warsaw. – An 18-year-old woman and her 30-year-old friend who left the scene immediately after the accident, leaving an injured 33-year-old man – said Chief Inspector Onyszko.

According to the policewoman, the 30-year-old was drunk at the time of his arrest. He had almost two per mille of alcohol in his exhaled air. – An 18-year-old woman was taken to hospital due to head injuries. Blood was taken from both detainees for further tests, said the superintendent. Onyszko.

Charges and arrest for a 30-year-old man

The prosecutor conducting the investigation charged the 30-year-old with causing a road accident that resulted in serious bodily injury to the passenger, failing to help him by fleeing the scene of the accident, and driving a car while under the influence of alcohol.

– The accused is liable to imprisonment for three to 16 years. The court accepted the prosecutor's request and temporarily arrested the 30-year-old for three months, Onyszko summed up.
