White ambulances will disappear from Warsaw streets. They will be replaced by new, yellow. 12 such vehicles went to the ambulance – they are equipped with the best equipment available on the European market.
The new, yellow ambulances went to the Warsaw Ambulance Station on Wednesday – so the white, which traveled on the streets for several dozen years.
The ambulances of the Provincial Ambulance Station and Sanitary Transport “Meditrans” SPZOZ in Warsaw cover almost 3.8 million kilometers annually. It means that they are exploited to the limit and must be replaced often.

– The ceremony of transferring ambulances closes a period in a 128-year history of ambulance in Warsaw. From the State Emergency Medical System in our operating region, white ambulances in white, which accompanied us for several dozen years. From today, only yellow ZRMs work in our operating region – basically vehicles made on the basis of the Volkswagen Crafter car. The oldest ambulance is 4 years old, the youngest month – said the director of “Meditrans” by health Karol Bielski.
Cost eight million zlotys
The new ambulances are equipped with an electric stretcher and a device for disinfecting air and ambulance surfaces. They were bought from their own funds, they will go to Wola, Ochota, Ursynów, Bemowo, Białołęka, to Pruszków, Piaseczno, Ujazdów, Mokotów, Targówek and Otwock.

From January 2025, there are 90 medical emergency teams in the operational region, which are located in 41 waiting stations.
– In addition, we are pioneers, because we were the first in Poland to meet the requirements of the ordinance of the Minister of Health from 2023, which imposes on disposers the obligation to introduce to the system State Medical Emergency Medical Ambulances in yellow until 31.12.2030 – reported the spokesman of “Meditrans” Piotr Owczarski.
He added that the Warsaw station has the youngest rolling stock in Europe.
