Warsaw. Night calls, stalking, transfers for one grosz. 26-year-old accused of harassing ex-partner

Police officers from Warsaw's Ochota district have detained a 26-year-old man suspected of harassing his ex-partner and her friend. The man was charged and taken to jail.

“The report concerned persistent harassment in the form of telephone calls to the injured party at various times of the day and night, sending money transfers to her bank account in the amount of PLN 0.01 with great intensity, setting up profiles on social media using the image of the reporting party and stalking the injured parties,” said Małgorzata Gębczyńska from the District Police Headquarters Warsaw III in a statement.

Officers from the Ochota police station gathered evidence and questioned the victim thoroughly. This allowed them to arrest the woman's 26-year-old ex-partner and charge him with persistent harassment. According to the Penal Code, the man faces a sentence of six months to eight years in prison.

“At the request of the Warsaw-Ochota District Prosecutor's Office, the Court applied a preventive measure in the form of temporary arrest for a period of 3 months,” concluded aspirant Gębczyńska.
