In the districts of Warsaw covered by the Paid Parent Parking Zone, the parking lots are being replaced. The city has signed a new agreement for the zone service for 10 years.

Recently, new ones have stood in many places in Warsaw next to operating parking meters. As the Municipal Road Administration explains, such a view is possible once every decade.

Contract for 10 years

Road workers pointed out that the service of paid parking zone is signed once in many years. “The previous one, which ended in November 2024, was in force nearly 10 years. The present was also signed for a decade, and the operator was the Polish company City Parking Group. As part of these contracts, we do not simply buy devices themselves – we pay for the service, which is the SPPN service with the help of parking meters” – explains ZDM. “To maintain the continuity of operation, the existing devices and those to replace them are temporarily standing next to each other. After turning on the new parking meter, the old one is dismantled” – say road workers.

The company with which the city has signed a contract must buy and deliver parking meters, install them, serve them and take care of their technical condition.

Parking meters do not require a connection

ZDM emphasizes that parking meters from 2014 are no longer “first freshness”. Their replacement is necessary. “Machines with a slow -acting keyboard and a small dark screen are a thing of the past, on which the vehicle's registration number was quite a time -consuming activity” – inform officials.

They point out that the replacement must take place smoothly and efficiently, and this is possible due to the fact that parking meters do not require an energy connection. Each parking meter is equipped with a battery and a solar panel that allows you to save the battery. The charge level is monitored on an ongoing basis.

“In total, in the entire zone, including new areas on Kamionek, Saska Kępa and Mokotów, exactly 2225 machines will stand. In the regions of last year's and this year's extension of the zone, the latest devices have been installed from the beginning. The latest devices have been installed from the beginning. In the 'old' SPPN since March, the process of existing existing parking meters has been underway from March” – sums up ZDM.
