The peak of vandalism at Westerplatte. Someone broke off 11 Polish flags from the masts, five of them burned. The police published the image of a man who is wanted in connection with the case. Recordings from monitoring cameras have also been made available.
The perpetrator had no inhibitions. He destroyed national colors in a place that is a real symbol for Poles. World War II began at Westerplatte, but it didn't matter to Wandal. First, he broke off 11 flags from the masts, and the work of destruction was done by burning 5 of them. One burned in the ruins of the barracks of Polish defenders of the institution.
– It all began at Westerplatte and in this sense the destruction of the flag in such a place hurts, surprises and surprises especially – says prof. Rafał Wnuk, director of the Museum of the Second World War in Gdańsk.
The incident occurred at night from Tuesday to Wednesday. On the museum monitoring you can see a man turning around Westerplatte and distributing fire in one of the historic buildings.

A young man is suspected of destroying flags, who broke into three gastronomic vehicles on Westerplatte the same night. He stole some money and small items. The police published his image.

The man ended his destructive rally in a nearby store with the purchase of alcohol. The museum announces that a security company will pay for destruction, which has not reacted to the act of vandalism.
The perpetrator is facing a year in prison for insulting the national colors of the perpetrator. A higher penalty may be given for burglary.
