What will we remember most from the Olympic Games in Paris in the performance of our representatives? Beautiful stories or great dramas? Because there was no shortage of both. On the one hand, there is, among others, the phenomenal boxer Julia Sheremetawhose fantastic fighting style won the hearts fansand the silver medal broke the drought in this discipline that had lasted since 1992. Our wonderful medalists in climbing, Aleksandra Kałucka (bronze) and Aleksandra Mirosław (the only gold for Poles in Paris) also put on a great show.

The volleyball players broke the curse of the quarterfinals, and what's more, they won their first medal in 48 years (silver). And then there was Iga Świątek, the first Olympic medalist in the history of Polish tennis. She was counting, like all of us, on gold. But bronze is also something great.
There were also many disappointments. Hammer throw, athletics in general, swimming, Paweł Tarnowski in windsurfing, Angelika Szymańska in judo. However, if it weren't for sensational silver medal for Daria Pikulik in track cycling on the last day of the Games, we would finish with nine medals, our weakest haul since 1956.
The Polish Olympic Committee must reach deep into its pockets
There was no shortage of bitter words and there probably will be more, but this time let's focus on the medalists. Each of them, thanks to their success, secured an Olympic pension, the rules and amount of which We have described it many times on Sport.pl. However, there are also bonuses from the Polish Olympic Committee. The Committee announced them at the beginning of the year. Unlike the pension, their amount varied depending on the color of the medal and whether it was won individually, in a team of several people, or in the entire team (e.g. basketball or volleyball).
The most valuable were of course the gold medals. For winning one you could even get an apartment (except for team sports). Poland she won only one gold in Paris, so the two-room apartment (funded by one of the sponsors) will go only to Aleksandra Mirosław. And what about the total amount of money that the Polish Olympic Committee will pay the medalists? Taking into account all the factors mentioned above, the Polish Olympic Committee will have to pay an expense of four million złoty. Plus, of course, diamonds, paintings and holiday vouchers that each medalist received, regardless of team, crew or solo (there were 28 pieces of each of the mentioned items in total).
