Zegrze. Wooden house fire. One person is dead

One person died in a fire in a wooden summer house in Zegrze. The fire engulfed the entire building and the roof collapsed. Six fire brigades worked on site.

The fire broke out in Zegrze, at Groszkowskiego Street. Firefighters received a report about the incident at 6:45 a.m. As reported by Junior Brig. Łukasz Szulborski from the fire brigade in Legionowo, a wooden building with a roof covered with felt was on fire.

– When firefighters arrived at the scene, the building was completely engulfed in fire, the wooden structure collapsed and the roof lay at the foundation level. Flames were coming from under the roof and there was heavy smoke, Szulborski described.

The fire threatened other buildings. Firefighters started extinguishing the fire and cutting the roof to get to the bottom of the structure. – During the work, a charred body was found. Rescue operations were canceled due to the injured person's condition, the firefighter said. The police and prosecutor's office arrived at the scene.

Firefighters continued extinguishing the fire and searching the area. No other injuries were found. The activities ended at 9:24 a.m. Six fire brigades worked on site.
