First, the couple picked up their children from nursery, then went to steal power tools from a town near Zielona Góra. They were arrested right after the deed. Both were charged with theft, and the man was additionally charged with possession of drugs.
The theft occurred on Monday, July 1 in the town of Dzielnogóra. The police were called by the victims, who noticed thieves driving away in a car from their home. A police patrol was sent to the scene. On the way, the police noticed the car in question and stopped the driver for an inspection.
They went to the robbery with small children
“There was a woman and a man in the car and, to the surprise of the police, two small children,” said Zielona Góra police spokeswoman Małgorzata Barska.
As the police add, the little ones were sitting on the back seat of the car.

The police ordered the driver to open the trunk. It contained stolen power tools and other items. The driver also had drugs on him.

The police took the couple to the police station. The children were placed in the care of their grandmother. During the interrogation, it turned out that the suspects were taking their friend to Sulechów. Returning to Zielona Góra, they noticed a house under construction.
“They decided to check if they could steal something from the construction site,” said Deputy Inspector Barska. They stole underfloor heating worth PLN 5,800.
On the way from Sulechów, they picked up children from the nursery and continued stealing. Near Zielona Góra, they noticed another property. They broke in and stole power tools worth PLN 8,000. The police also determined that the couple had stolen garden ornaments worth PLN 1,100 from a property in the Zabór commune in March.
The 36-year-old and the 28-year-old were charged with theft. Both admitted to their crimes. They face sentences of five years in prison. The man will also be held responsible for possession of drugs.
