The police drone captured 13 “elephant races” on A2 in the Żyrardów area. It turned out that one of the drivers should not get behind the wheel at all. He had rights withdrawn.

On Wednesday, policemen from Żyrardów, Supported by officers from Radom, they focused their attention on the A2 motorway. They supported themselves with a drone, thanks to which they could effectively fish for drivers who broke the rules.

Within a few hours, they detected 13 offenses, where truck drivers did not comply with a ban on overtaking, for which the tariff provides a thousand zlotys of a fine and 15 penalty points.

One driver had rights withdrawn

Among those who did not comply with the prohibition of overtaking, was, among others The driver who ran a truck Volvo, despite the withdrawal rights to manage.

“Now the 54 -year -old will answer in court for driving, without following the administrative decision about the withdrawal of the rights to drive, for which he is facing up to two years imprisonment” – informed senior sergeant. Julia Szczygielska from the Poviat Police Headquarters in Żyrardów.

Policemen remind you that on July 1, 2023 a new ban came into force for truck drivers in the field of overtaking on express roads, fast movement and highways, which have only two lanes in one direction.

This provision does not apply when the overtaken vehicle moves at a speed much less than the category N2 or N3 permissible for vehicles in force on a given road.

This ban does not apply to overtaking vehicles that perform activities such as cleaning, renovation or modernization works. However, they must send a yellow flash.
