During renovation works on the roof of a kindergarten in Zamość (Lubelskie Voivodeship), a mechanical ventilation unit caught fire. Even before firefighters arrived, staff began evacuating 48 children.
The fire brigade received a report yesterday before 3 p.m. The ventilation devices on the roof of the municipal kindergarten at ul. were on fire. Lwowska in Zamość.
– Even before our arrival, the kindergarten staff started evacuating the children. Then we took over the action. A total of 65 people were evacuated from the building, including 48 children, says junior brigadier Marcin Żulewski from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Zamość.

As a result of the fire, the control panel and a fragment of the roof ceiling insulation were burned.
– Fortunately, no one was hurt – says Junior Brig. Żulewski.
The action lasted just over two hours. Three fire brigades were on site.
