IMWM warnings. The Institute warns against black ice and strong winds

Road conditions in the south of the country will be dangerous in the coming hours. IMWM issued the lowest level warnings against freezing precipitation there. In turn, yellow alerts are in force for strong winds at the seaside.

The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first-degree warnings on a three-level, increasing scale.

IMWM warnings – freezing precipitation

The lowest level alerts apply in the following voivodeships:

  • Lesser Polandin Nowy Sącz and Gorlice counties;
  • Podkarpackiein the following counties: Lesko, Sanok, Krosno, Jasło.

Light freezing drizzle is forecast in these regions, causing black ice locally. The warnings will remain in effect until 10 a.m.

IMWM warnings – strong wind

Today, strong winds may also pose a threat. First degree warnings apply to the following voivodeships:

  • West Pomeranian VoivodeshipSławno County;
  • Pomeraniancounties: Słupsk, Lębork, Wejherowo, Puck.

Strong winds with an average speed of up to 45 km/h, gusts of up to 70 km/h, from the south-west and west are forecast. The alarms will remain in effect until 6 p.m.

Conditions are expected to favor the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena that may cause material losses and pose a threat to health and life. Conducting business in conditions of exposure to these factors is difficult and dangerous. Expect difficulties resulting from carrying out activities in the hazardous area, including delays caused by traffic disruptions, disruptions to outdoor events or the possibility of their cancellation. Caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and developments in the weather situation.
