A 37-year-old man from the Sokolniki commune (Łódź Voivodeship) was arrested for three months for attacking his neighbor with a knife and a hammer. The man was a recidivist and may face up to life imprisonment.
This incident took place on November 26 in one of the towns in the Sokolniki commune near Wieruszów. The police received information that an unconscious person was lying on the floor in one of the apartments. The officers confirmed the report and found a man with numerous wounds on the spot.

Piotr Siemicki from the police in Wieruszów, officers helped the injured man and handed him over to the Medical Rescue Team. – The police quickly identified the perpetrator. It turned out to be a 37-year-old neighbor who entered the injured man's room and, for no reason, holding a knife in his hand, started punching the man and then hit him all over the body with a hammer. The 59-year-old suffered numerous fractures and wounds that threatened his life and health. The aggressor was arrested and placed in a police cell. A breathalyzer test showed that at the time of the incident he had almost 100% alcohol in his body. During the search, the police found a small amount of green dried herb in his apartment. After a preliminary examination, it turned out that the substance seized was marijuana – informs the press officer of the Wieruszów police.
