On Wednesday, in an interview with CNN, the 77-year-old described the dramatic scenes he witnessed in the last hours. Woods admitted that the fire destroyed his home as well as other properties on his street. He told how he had to evacuate and how he helped his 94-year-old neighbor who had dementia escape. – It was like hell. All the houses around us were burning, said the actor.

– One day you swim in the pool, and the next day you're gone – said the visibly moved star. “I thought I'd be stronger,” he said, wiping away tears. The CNN journalist replied that “strength is not measured by whether someone holds back tears, but strength is measured by what he does, helping his neighbors and talking about the great work of firefighters and rescuers.”

James Woods recalled the emotional moment that brought him to tears when his wife's 8-year-old niece offered the contents of her piggy bank to help them rebuild their house. On website X he wrote that they completed its renovation only a month ago.
