Albanian parliamentarians unanimously supported the motionin which they called on Greece to revoke the 84-year-old law declaring a state of war against their country.

Albania and Greece to Make Peace? A Breakthrough After 84 Years
Tirana and Athens agreed in 2016 to end the formal state of war that had existed since World War II, but have not yet taken any specific decisions in this direction.
During a visit to Albania in 2020, the then Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias calls martial law an “anachronism”ensuring that “Surely both countries will solve this problem.”
Athens passed a law declaring a state of war between the two states following the attack on Greece by Italian occupation forces stationed in Albania in October 1940. The Greek parliament has not abolished it yet.even though both countries signed a friendship agreement in the early 1990s.
Maritime border dispute
The martial law law was not the only obstacle to peace between Greece and Albania. For years, the countries have also been in dispute over the course of the maritime border dividing them. It was only the aforementioned visit of the Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs to Albania that resulted in a joint decision to refer this issue to the International Court of Justice.
