Zbigniew Boniek he wrote a beautiful card in the colors of Juventus during his career. He represented this club in the years 1982-1985 and won basically everything he could with it. From the Italian championship (1983/84), through the Coppa Italia (1982/83), to the first Champions League in the history of the Turin team, then known as the European Cup (1984/85). A powerful team, which, apart from the Pole, included, among others: Paolo Rossi or Michel Platini, defeated w final Liverpool 1-0 after Platini's goal.
Milik writes his own story. Even though he hasn't been able to for many months
Apart from Boniek, there have not been many Poles in the history of Juventus. Basically, we had a solid Polish accent only in recent years, when we saw Wojciech Szczęsny and Arkadiusz Milik in Turin. The former played over 270 games for Juventus, and then ended his career this summer, resuming his career shortly thereafter for Barcelona. Milik, on the other hand, plays there to this day, although in recent months the word “game” doesn't seem to fit well.
The Pole has been recovering from a knee injury sustained in a friendly match for the Polish national team for half a year Euro 2024 with Ukraine. As a result, he lost half of the season and his future is uncertain. If not for the injury, Juventus would probably have sold him in the summer. The club's sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, assured recentlythat the club still believes in the Pole, and he suits the playing style of coach Thiago Motta. However, everything remains to be seen. Let's remember that Milik will turn 31 next year, and before that he was mainly a substitute for Dusan Vlahovic.
Boniek spoke highly of Vlahovic
And it was Vlahović who received a lot of praise from the above-mentioned Zbigniew Boniek. The former president of the Polish Football Association spoke about the Serbian for Amazon Prime Video before the match between Juventus and Aston Villa in the Champions League. In the interview, Boniek recalled matches with this club in the quarter-finals of the European Cup in 1983, when Villa was defending the title. Juventus then won 2-1 and 3-1, advancing to semi-final (where he beat Widzew Łódź).
– They were three fantastic years, very beautiful, with tough and intelligent people. There was no competition. We only spoke Italian, everyone communicated with each other and no one locked themselves in their rooms. We have always been together. When we drew Aston Villa, we knew they were defending the title, it was a tough match, said Boniek, quoted by calciomercato.com.
What did he have to say about Vlahovic? Boniek did not hide his admiration for Milik's rival in the fight for the squad. – I like him very much. He is constantly dangerous and always has a killer face. I thought he would score even more goals during these two years – said the former president of the Polish Football Association. The Serb has been playing for Juventus since January 2022. During this time, he played 117 times for the team and scored 50 goals. This season, Vlahovic scored nine goals in sixteen games.
