Central Communication Port – government plan. Rafał Trzaskowski comments

Prime Minister Donald Tusk During Wednesday's press conference, he said that the Central Communication Port project will be continued, but in a “more realistic” formula. – Poland will become one large megalopolis, which means that all large cities in Poland will be involved in this modern communication project – assured the head of government.

A central airport is to be built in Baranów near Warsaw, railway lines connecting the largest cities, as well as the “Y” high-speed railway line from Warsaw, through Łódź to Wrocław and Poznań. The new airport is to be launched in 2032. The estimated cost of building the domestic airport in Baranów together with accompanying investments, i.e. including the port in the public roads and the construction of high-speed railways, is PLN 131 billion by 2032 – said Maciej Lasek, the government representative for CPK. . He added that PLN 80 billion is the cost of building the “Y” line, which is to be completed by the mid-2030s.

He referred to the new CPK concept in “Fakty po Faktach” on TVN24 Rafał Trzaskowskimayor of Warsaw and deputy head of the Civic Platform.

– This is where Donald Tusk differs from Prime Minister Morawiecki – he talks about specifics. He does not tell dreams or create visions that have no basis in reality. Only after several months of audit and preparation, it presents a project that has a chance of implementation (…). At the moment, we have a plan that actually seems possible to implement, which is to modernize all of Poland, he said.

– We are talking about specifics that are well calculated. The development of railway connections itself is very well planned. AND PIS he was planning things that would be very difficult to implement and that would simply not be financially profitable. I am also pleased that the Prime Minister clearly said that there will be a future for regional airports and for Modlin and Okęcie. Because PiS said that we would simply liquidate Okęcie, Trzaskowski continued.

– However, we are talking about how Okęcie could continue to serve Warsaw. I believe that some passenger traffic could be served from Okęcie airport. It can be done. There are large European capitals that have two airports – one is its own, close to the center, which handles some flights, and the other, well-planned, with the development of a national carrier. It can be done, assured the mayor of Warsaw.

According to Trzaskowski, “finally this project is starting to look feasible.”

– When it comes to Donald Tusk's credibility in the case of investments, it is enough to look at what was done during his rule, how Poland has changed, how many investments there were, and compare it to the stories that PiS has been spinning over the years, and nothing did not implement it – added the TVN24 guest.

Trzaskowski was asked whether the new CPK concept will also be part of the story about Poland by Rafał Trzaskowski, a candidate in the elections presidential.

– When it comes to issues related to the presidential elections, we will certainly need a very ambitious story. But who will think about it, it's still a bit too early – he replied. – I don't think anyone who knows me and follows my life trajectory doubts my ambition and determination. However, it is definitely too early to talk about it. I still have a lot of things to get straight and finish certain stages in Warsaw – he added.

The TVN24 guest also said that he hopes that the Sejm will find a majority to pass the act on civil partnerships. – I was one of the first politicians from the Civic Platform who clearly said that such an act is needed. The matter is very delicate, because here we have different attitudes of our coalition partners – he added.

– I believe in the wisdom of those who are preparing this project and I hope that there will be an ambitious law on civil partnerships and that it will find support in the Sejm, because this is the most important thing today – he said.
