An unexploded bomb from World War II was found near the Service Area of the S3 route at Wysoka Gryfińska (West Pomeranian Voivodeship). An operation to transfer the load will take place on Friday. It was necessary to evacuate the residents of the village of Chlebowo. Until further notice, the S3 route from the Gryfino junction to the Szczecin Klucz junction has been closed in both directions.
Information about the temporary closure of the S3 road near Szczecin General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways reported on July 25 in the afternoon. The disruptions are expected on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The suspension of car traffic on the expressway is necessary due to the planned operations of sappers. The military will remove an unexploded bomb from World War II located near S3.
– The connection on the main S3 route between the Gryfino junction and the Klucz junction, together with the Wysoka rest area, will be closed – informed the officer on duty at the GDDKiA road information point in Szczecin.
The nearly ten-kilometer section of the S3 will be closed in both directions. For those driving from Świnoujście towards Gorzów (and vice versa), GDDKiA recommends a detour through the Szczecin-Kijewo junction to Szczecin-Płonia, and from there take DW119, the so-called old three, to Stare Czarnowo, where you should turn onto DW120 and return to the S3 via the provincial road.
For those driving from the border crossing in Kołbaskowo or from the western districts of Szczecin, GDDKiA recommends using DK31 (exit from A6 at the Radziszewo junction), which leads through Gryfino, from where DW120 can be reached by car to Gardno and the Gryfino junction on the S3.
