Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro KuĊ‚eba during the peace summit in Switzerland talked to journalists. In one of the answers to the question he mentioned that the government in Kiev understands that There will come a time when you will need to talk to Russia.

Then, Mykhailo Podolak, an adviser to the head of President Zelensky's office, admitted that “there is no way to find a compromise between Putin's statement and Ukraine's position,” and these words “have no connection with the negotiation process.”

US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan spoke in a similar tone – he emphasized that Putin's offer is contrary to the United Nations Charter and “offends fundamental morality and ordinary common sense.”

The topic of possible negotiations between Russia and Ukraine came up during the weekend peace summit in Switzerland. More than 90 countries and international organizations took part in it. In the final statement, adopted by the vast majority of the event participants, it was noted that “the basis for achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine must be “respect for territorial integrity and its sovereignty.

President Volodymyr Zelensky concluded that meeting “was a great success for Ukraine and all partners”, however, he added that Russia – which was not invited – “is not ready for a just peace.” In his opinion, this is confirmed by Putin's statement on Friday.
