Five people were injured, including two women seriously, in a collision of three cars in a tunnel in Laliki (Śląskie) on Sunday, along the S1 expressway to Slovakia. The tunnel is closed for now. The police have marked detours.

– There was a collision of three passenger vehicles with 10 people in the tunnel. Five of them were injured. Two women, citizens Slovakia aged 34 and 17, were taken to hospital in serious condition. An LPR helicopter was called, but due to weather conditions it was unable to arrive – said the spokesman for the Żywiec fire brigade, Capt. Tomasz Kołodziej.

He added that the tunnel was closed until the vehicles were removed. – We are waiting for tow trucks to tow the cars. The police have marked detours, Kołodziej said. The causes of the accident are not known yet. They were determined by the police
